Kadcyla 160 mg Injection is used in the treatment of breast cancer. It is used to treat certain types of breast cancer (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, HER-2) which have spread to other organs and have not responded to other cancer medicines.

How Kadcyla 160mg 1s Injection works

Kadcyla 160 mg Injection is an anti-cancer medicine. It binds to HER2 receptors on breast cancer cells and flags the cancer cells for destruction by the body’s immune system. It also goes into the cancer cells to release a chemotherapy medicine (emtansine) and stop them from growing and dividing.

  • Before starting Kadcyla™ treatment, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking (including prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, herbal remedies, etc.).
  • Do not receive any kind of immunization or vaccination without your doctor’s approval while taking Kadcyla™.
  • Inform your health care professional if you are pregnant or may be pregnant prior to starting this treatment.
  • For both men and women: Use contraceptives, and do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking Kadcyla™. Barrier methods of contraception, such as condoms, are recommended. Verify pregnancy status prior to treatment initiation. Effective contraception should be used during therapy and for 6 months after treatment.
